Ok, before anything else, WHY are the disk meter desktop modules in your screenshots displaying N/A for the Read and Write speeds? Did you take those screenshots before the modules started updating those values or is there something actually wrong in there?

Folks, this is going to be a quick beta. It needs to be, as it needs to be released before 2025 turns into 2026 lol. ANY outstanding issues need to be reported ASAP, please!

OK I rebooted just now in the latest BETA and went into BIOS as the computer I edit on is older than the other two and checked SMART is on = YES. I chose a few different themes - All themes are displaying N/A on Read/Write - See INFO below the image.

So you have the specs on just how old
It is an Intel CPU i7-4770 on an ASUS Z87-C Mainboard running Windows 11 21H2
I cannot upgrade this in updates any further due to its age. I have a way around it if it is the O/S version. I can bypass checking and install a more recent version.
Not something i really wish to do unless it is the version and an M/S issue.
It so far has been great for testing as it covers a wide range of people's computers who might use it it, by using one that is most likely older than what many might have to edit and test.

Open a CMD (command prompt) window and type (or copy and then paste)

typeperf -qx | findstr /i PhysicalDisk

do you get anything after pressing enter? More specifically I am looking for entries like

\PhysicalDisk(2 C:)\Disk Reads/sec

and

\PhysicalDisk(2 C:)\Disk Writes/sec

On the other two computers, yes fully displays...on the one I edit on, No. It goes back to command prompt.

NOTE - also, I have completely removed defender on my edit computer... By choice on this single computer. It cannot be reinstalled, not even by update. It is deleted completely, it is not even in settings.

Have run sfc /scannow - it found corrupted files and fixed them.

Then ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Rebooted...

No change.

It's worth noting, AIDA64 has no issues displaying the data, so it may not be the deletion of defender or denied controlled folder access.

For some reason the PDH (Performance Counters) are disabled on that machine only.

Because AIDA64 does not use the Windows Performance Counters, it communicates with the hardware directly via DeviceIOControl.

Don't go around blindly trying to fix what ain't broken and making matters worse in the process, ask the AI for help in enabling the Windows Performance Counters.

1. Make sure the Windows service "Performance Logs & Alerts" is set to Manual or Automatic and not Disabled in the Windows Services Panel (WIN+R then C:\Windows\system32\services.msc).

2. Open an *elevated* CMD prompt and type (or copy & paste) to rebuild the performance counter registry from the system backup files:

%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\lodctr.exe /r
%SystemRoot%\System32\lodctr.exe /r

3. Then restart the Performance Counters service:

net stop pla
net start pla

4. Check with

typeperf -qx | findstr /i PhysicalDisk

again.

No problems here, The Disk Meter module works flawlessly on my PC.

I am guessing your hardware is not officially supported for installing windows 11,
have you perhaps used one of the available utilities that modifies the Windows 11 installation, allowing it to be used on unsupported hardware.

This may or may not have some relevance.

You would guess correctly by the inspector. The joke being I have the latest update on a 12th Gen with 128GB RAM and fast nvme's and it takes 30 seconds longer to boot. The unsupported (apparently) version takes 8 seconds from power-on to land at the the login screen with 10th of the supposed capacity. No utility. I edited the registry and group policy and replaced a dll from the official iso with a compatible win10 exact same dll install that checks compatibility.
As a test, I installed a virgin 25H2 which is supposedly completely incompatible and did as above with zero issues. I am not running it because I don't want to reinstall all of my apps or revisit my long gone past and write sysprep scripts. (I do regular C-Drive/System backups)
Cheers

THANK YOU

Yes the performance monitor was not working.
It displayed in the CMD prompt. I rebooted as refreshing theme did not change. I set to automatic in services.msc.
I rebooted and it is working now :)

Yes, there is a lot of perfectly usable hardware being barred from installing Windows 11.

Ok I can understand about 60% of the file and the disk structure.
It is certainly different as you said Jorge.

Here is a first attempt. I won't upload as yet. Not fully happy. I won't be until I work out bits that I need to do this more assertively...
I have 'almost' got the hang of the padding and I am doing something not quite right too. Creating graphics and then rotating CCW to get it to display correctly is different...I will work it out.

Very, very, nice, but the moon in the Moon module is supposed to be fully visible (even if you overlay part of it with the cute yellow face, the current moon phase should still be 100% recognizable). Otherwise you are sacrificing functionality in favor of looks.

Jorge it's a graphic recreation of what they call a half-moon that is really only a quarter

You would be 100% correct if I blotted it out. If I add it, there will be two moons  I will add it you are right, I did sacrifice functionality on this for a change because mouse over will display everything anyway. Your point is valid though. I may just extend the placeholder and add more information which will probably look better too. :P

EDIT: I added Sunrise & Sunset times and it has the moon Phase already :)

Anyway - Thanks for the email - I am staying away from extra graphics additions other than creating the default modules for now until I completely get my head around how the padding works properly. I am getting there...

In all the disks I am leaving the danger mark red regardless of theme. It's one of those colors that jumps out, so when the drive is nearly full, it will draw attention.

Here's what I decided on for the emoji theme for now...when I get better with it I'll do better :) I can live with it for now as flawed as it is.
