Hi. I have a laptop with a built-in eSIM chip (a recent Dell, bought about 6 months ago) and I'd like to display my eSIM connection status directly in Nexus or Winstep Xtreme, via a widget or a dock. The thing is, Windows recognizes the card just fine, but I can’t find a module or plugin that lets me display the active mobile network in the dock. I’ve been digging through the widget options for about an hour and a half, with no luck. Personally, I’m used to fully customizing my desktop with Winstep, but this one’s giving me trouble. Has anyone ever hacked something like this, even with a skin or an external script or eSIM promo codes and discounts ? I’ll take any leads, honestly.

The Net Meter module may be able to monitor the eSIM/mobile broadband adapter’s traffic if Windows exposes it as a normal network adapter, but Winstep currently does not have a dedicated cellular/eSIM status module that displays carrier name, signal strength, roaming state, or active mobile network details.

Windows has Mobile Broadband APIs for this, but Winstep does not currently use it, and it is a very niche feature compared to normal network traffic monitoring.

Definitely *very* niche for now. But I suspect it will become a lot more common in coming years - and more's the pity. Another intrusion into privacy. :/ Thank goodness for Proton and other European privacy software providers!
